Dr Phil: Diet Huckster

The latest snake oil salesman, oops I mean diet guru, is none other than white male Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phillip C. McGraw. Dr. Phil is currently hawking an expensive line of diet supplements and meal-replacement bars. A 15-day supply of the supplements will set you back $60.00 and are really nothing more than overpriced vitamins. On the bright side, the supplements do not appear to contain anything that might kill you, like ephedra. In the meantime, the meal-replacement bars contain no less than four varieties of highly-processed sugar: fudge syrup, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, and standard issue white sugar. You might as well just eat a Snickers Bar. By the way, is it my imagination or does Dr. Phil look a little chunky himself?
